Visiting Special Friends

We are all missing Eddie around here, so it seemed like a great time to go visit some dear friends. We met this family at church when we lived in Memphis and were delighted when we learned they were moving to Oregon almost two years ago. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to get together very often, but I enjoy it when we do. The kids adore their youngest daughter, but unfortunately she wasn't feeling well yesterday so we didn't get to see much of her. Also Ward works evenings and we only got to see him for a few minutes as well. However, we spent eight hours or so visiting with Cindy, and it was nice to catch up with her.

Thanks, Cindy, we love you all!

Have just discovered your blog. I see you are from St. Helens and looking at your interests we have several in common--adoption and scrapbooking being the main ones. I share my adoption stories on my blog under "my story" as I was a pioneer in single adoptions over forty years ago. My children are grown now, but what joys were....and are, mine!!

I went to your church website and I couldn't pull up anything except the times of your services--no address, etc. I have a foster daughter (now 58) living in your area and she is homeless right now. She is a believer but hasn't found a church and I think a Bible church would be just right for her as she was raised at Grace Bible Fellowship in Portland as a girl. (I've offered her a place to stay, but she doesn't want the drive). Her son lives in St. H.and she often works for him caring for the children and cleaning for them. I would be thrilled if she would find a good church family with whom to fellowship.

Your little ones are precious. I'm impressed with your little boy's abilities in reading. I, too, know the book with which you taught him to read. My best friend has taught all of her grandchildren to read starting when they were three. They started school with a terrific "root" system and ability to attack words by sounding them out.

Perhaps you would give me the address and phone number of your church?? I would love to send S. that way.

Lovely to visit your very interesting blogs!!

Oh my goodness, you saw Cindy! I'd sure love to see her. I called Pastor Phil a week ago, and it was a joy to talk to him. That time in that church is one of the very few things I miss about Memphis.

Next time you communicate with Cindy, please tell her hi for me.
