Retro Food

After sampling some of astronaut food last week, I began reminiscing about one of my favorite childhood snacks: Space Food Sticks. Anyone else remember them? I particularly loved the peanut butter ones, and I can still remember the smell, look, and texture of them...yum!

On a whim I Googled it, and much to my surprise and delight, I found out that they are being made again. It seems I am not the only one to have fond memories of this odd snack. There is a whole website devoted to them and the story of how they came to be produced again so many years later. Once we have recovered a bit from our current financial pinch, I think I'll order some and share a fond memory with my kids!

I've never heard of astronaut food!! Where was I when it came about?? I don't know.

I've have regularily checking your blog and have not seen any updates..and tonight here are several. I wonder why they didn't show up for me before tonight! Oh well! I'll never figure out computers!

I just finished with another post on my son Jonathan and I was thinking as I finished, "Did I make this sound like a fairy tale?" And then here is your post about being real. I hear you. Sometimes, it is hard to talk about problems, because we don't want to discourage the subject of our blog. My grandson Elliot has ODD and ADHD. I hate to blog about that because he has so many endearing qualities..

I have a surrogate grandson with autism. I would love to blog about him and the challenges his Mom faces with him, but I just can't seem to do it.

There is coming a post about my son, Jon and a very dark period in his life. I would love to leave it out, but it must be told, because it is such a tribute to God's grace. I will ask him before I share about it.

I think all of us as parents and grandparents know that there is always a behind the scenes part of our blogs.

You do great. I enjoy your posts so much.

Joan
